Empowering Communities Through Film and Storytelling: Supported by Kent Saheli Group and Gurdwara Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji Dartford

Kent Saheli Group is proud to welcome acclaimed Sikh filmmakers Amanmeet Singh and Harmandeep Singh to Gravesend and Dartford (Kent) in February 2025 for a series of inspiring talks and creative interactive community sessions.

Under the theme 'Empowering Communities Through Film and Storytelling', these sessions will provide an exciting opportunity for our community to explore the transformative power of storytelling in film. Highlights of the initiative include:

Talks at Gurdwara Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and Acacia Hall, Dartford: Learn how to craft meaningful narratives, develop technical skills, and bring community stories to life through film.
Film Screening and Q&A: Experience the filmmakers’ latest work, Mera Baba Nanak (2023), followed by an interactive Q&A session with Amanmeet and Harmandeep Singh where attendees can gain insight into the filmmaking process.

We are thrilled to host this creative skills and confidence development initiative, which aims to empower community members to embark on their own film and content creation journeys. Whether you're an aspiring filmmaker or simply passionate about storytelling, join us to gain inspiration, skills, and a deeper connection with our community’s rich everyday stories.

Sangat Wellbeing Session - Eye Health

The Kent Saheli Group is proud to support Sangat Wellbeing at Gurdwara Guru Hargobind Singh Ji, Dartford, by organising a special eye health session in March 2025.

We are delighted to host Subhash Suthar, an experienced eye health specialist, who will deliver an informative talk on key health issues affecting our community, including:

Eye health
Glaucoma prevention
Type 2 Diabetes and its impact on vision

Following the talk, attendees will have the opportunity for 1:1 consultations with Mr. Suthar to receive personalised advice and support.

This event is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing community wellbeing through health education and practical support.

Sikhi Vichaar for Sangat at Gurdwara Guru Hargobind Singh Ji, Dartford

The Kent Saheli Group is proud to support the Sangat of Gurdwara Guru Hargobind Singh Ji in Dartford by organising a special session with Sikh scholar, Jasmeet Singh Khalsa. This insightful event will delve into the question: 'Why did Maharaj take initiation into the Khalsa, when they themselves were the Guru?'

Jasmeet Singh Khalsa will explore the spiritual and historical significance of this momentous celebration, shedding light on the process of Amrit Sanchaar as initiated on Vaisakhi by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The session aims to deepen our understanding of the transformative journey into the Khalsa and its relevance in our spiritual lives today.

Join us for this enriching experience as we connect with the teachings of Guru Sahib and reflect on the timeless legacy of Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
